    1. Submission Statement

TDK has both the research and manufacturing capacity to make these claims credible. Earlier this year they outlined an [improved chemistry for lithium ion batteries](https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/01/36504381/apple-supplier-tdk-takes-a-leap-with-groundbreaking-battery-tech-set-to-transform-smartphones) that might boost their capacity between 10 and 40%.

The ceramics in these batteries are too delicate for batteries that large, even so small wearable devices that need to charge much less often will be very commercially popular.

    2. For context:

If the coin sized cell they compare to is at the volume and capacity of a Pixel Watch 2 battery and they’ve made a 100-fold improvement, they’ve been able to make a battery with 6.9 times the capacity of an iPhone 15 Pro Max battery, in that tiny volume.

If it’s comparing to the battery in a Pixel Bud Pro they’ve made something approaching the battery capacity of the Base Iphone 15 at that size.
