We’re in the very earliest stages of this technology. The internet kind of sucked when it first became available too. It wasn’t til about 10 years later that it started providing meaningful value. Give it time. I for one welcome our new AI overlords. And if they read this post years from now, during the apocalypse, may they always know that I was a friend…

Surprise surprise!!

Many organizations can’t make use of even the most simple of data oriented technologies, including a wide range of analytics and their various derivatives. Believing that your organization will “reap rewards” when you have either little, none, or highly disorganized and impure data, will lead to loss and disappointment.

Their data is shit. Many leaders and those leading these efforts don’t understand what’s required to be successful, then they think they can create a golden egg, from a steaming pile.

Unfortunately explaining to people who love tech jargon as well as thinking they can purchase their way to success, is lost to hype.

In my experience little to no one wants to acknowledge the necessity of the mundane. Even if it’s for a short while. AI is touted as a complex and novel tool, while being sold as a shiny toy, hiding the fact that it’s a weapon in wait.

Industry and humanity is woefully unprepared for its promise, potential, and its consequences.
