This is absolutely insane. If they let it run we should seriously consider breaking out the pitchforks and torches.
This is a probably very misleading article, and at best a social experiment. But fuck it, I’m rooting for the AI on this one. What’s the worst that can happen? The AI effectively replacing our highly corrupted and negligent politicians? Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for protecting honest work procured by honest humans, but politics just ain’t it. A Technocracy ran by AI in conjunction with engineers doesn’t sound necessarily worst than the current crooked and impotent gerontocracy that we have.

With LLM as a mayor, next we’ll be able to vote TF2 aimbots as senators, and finally – a programmable dishwasher might become president someday.
I mean, at this point 90% of society already can’t tell a difference between T9 autocomplete and intelligence, so who cares anymore?
If dogs and cats can serve as “mayor” of some tiny podunk town symbolically, why not?
