The beginning of true competition on prices that should benefit to the consumers.
Cactus needs someone to bring them back in line with their prices. I was there at the weekend and as an example, I wanted to grab a pack of Crodino but it was €8.70. My local corner shop sells the exact same product for €6.80 so I bought it there. That’s just mental for a large retailer vs corner shop. And yeah, I can definitely live without Crodino (well, my wife can but I’m not telling her).
For a normal shopping trip (and not that weird combination of products in their price comparison example), I always found Cactus to be pretty competitve. And even if Cactus is a bit more expensive, I prefer to pay a premium for a calm shopping trip over the mad max style scenes you witness in other stores on a saturday.
