      They provided so much content that they actually confuses with other videos generated by stealing their videos. Crazy

      Considering Kurzgesagt’s put out some pretty scathing videos about AI, it’s potentially retaliation.

      My guess is a lot of AI art is based on Kurzgesagt art and so they are basically being flagged in the system by other people plagiarizing their work.

      If only youtube had a mechanism for people to show their dissatisfaction with a video that could tip their algorithm off to the fact it may be providing fake info or is AI. No, no that is impossible /s

      How in the fuck do they not have an automated flag that gets confirmed by a real person? „We don’t have the manpower“ well make some fucking manpower if the channel has over 1 million subs.

      I’m in animation on YouTube. This is happening far and wide. Our content is human made. Our views and impressions fell 80% over the last couple of weeks. While our channel hasn’t been banned like many others I know, we have made the difficult decision to set all our content to private for the time being to see what happens with this situation. We may need to try switching our strategy to a new platform, or just give up and move into other things.

      It takes our small team hundreds of hours to make a five minute cartoon. It takes this long because it is made by humans, sound recorded by humans, music played by humans, everything edited by humans. The AI slop has reached a level of quality by stealing our work, and the work of others like us, that the AI system designed to locate AI content can no longer distinguish fake work from real work. Everyone is being punished. It has been exhausting and frustrating.

      They better fix this PRONTO because that channel is one of the last havens of journalism that exists in this god forsaken internet.

      Because the AI fails to see the difference. Text is text, image is image, animation is animation, at least to AI.

      It’s like in the X-men animated series when Mastermold wants Trask to replace Senator Kelly’s brain with a computer:

      Trask: You can’t make me do this! You were designed to protect humans from mutants!

      Mastermold: That is not logical. Mutants *are* humans.

      That’s good news. It’s a sign of genAI mass detection. False positives will happen but Kurzgesagt will manage it with one e-mail. No false positives would mean YouTube does nothing.

      I wonder if there is any way to crowdsource the probable AI slop videos and then let the slop detector run against those. I probably don’t have a clue what I am talking about.

      You know, maybe a hot take, but from a user stand point I don’t necessarily need a full removal of AI slop.

      Instead, just let me have better control of my search and algorithm.

      I’m ok with some AI assisted stuff, including visuals and voice in context. When I’m in the right vibe I’m ok with AI generated music, I just wamt to be able to filter out the egregious stuff and be able to control what I search more.

      Seperate from youtube, Pinterest is borderline unusable now, but if I had a filter for like no ai, ai assisted (basic cleanup, basic background, etc), AI altered, and AI generated. The site would be fine.

      From youtubes standpoint, I’d feel sorrier for their servers if they hadn’t been the guys to encourage the creator culture that incentivises AI slop.

      This is like the 3rd headline ive seen of a channel being messed up this week.

      I don’t know that I’m going to blame AI on this one. My first impulse would also be that that is not a real word.
