Thing is that Poland has been receiving warnings about probing attacks by Russia into their land and airspace for a while. This “off course” missile definitely seems to fit that profile.
Russia really doesn’t want to lose to Ukraine, to the piont they keep poking nato into fight to say they lost to the big bad west

For weeks, several agencies, voices and Ukraine warned about Russia planning an escalation to test NATO.
Question is, what will the answer be?
I sincerely hope they use this for justification for starting to shoot down Russian drones and missiles in Ukrainian airspace that look like they are travelling towards NATO airspace.

No. The title should be Russia fired missile at Poland. This only emboldens Russia to do more of this in the future if we don’t call it for what it is.

Is this the provocation?
I get that western countries don’t want to go to war for obvious reasons, but sometimes to stop a bully in the present after they attack you or your friends, and to deter future aggression you have to give that bully a thorough pounding.
Russia can’t take over Ukraine, so the idea that it could ever threaten the rest of Europe militarily with any significance is a bit of a joke.
They should send troops to the relieve Ukrainian forces at the Belorussian border. Create no Russian fly zones in most of Ukraine, and inspect every Russian ship in the Baltic Sea.
If Russia wants to declare war over that, then let them. I’m tired of them hiding behind the “But we have nukes” excuse.
Im asking this out of pure curiosity. This isn’t the first time this as happened. Why doesn’t Poland set up AD/AA or radars to help?
People here shouting for a NATO response are those, who will never be affected by it or fighting for it.
So how many more missiles need to accidentally land in Poland before we start calling out Russia for taking practice shots on how long it takes Poland to detect the threat?
And of course, neither Poland or NATO will do anything about it, confirming to russia they can continue stretching the red line.
At what point will the EU & NATO admit that Russia is slowly trying to open war on wider Europe?

This reminds me of the excellent short speech at the UN last year by Poland’s Foreign Minister Sikorski warning to russia should this exact thing happpen.
I feel like hitting Poland is the worst way to „test NATO“. The Poles are more than capable of slapping the wrist themselves without involving NATO if they don’t want to.
