Should have gone with the Starling as it’s everywhere in Europe and originally only in europe.

Turkey European country confirmed.
I like the banknotes tbh

What I love about the bird designs is that its order follows the habitat of the birds along a river. The 5€ is an alpine bird, the 200€ is a sea bird, and the rest sits in between. I don’t know if there’s an order to the famous people designs

Isabelle Daëron’s design might be the best note design I’ve ever seen.

Is not super accurate – e.g. there are Wall Creepers & Bee-eaters in Poland.

Because you used a white color for the land, the red and blue rectangles make an illusion appearing like there is yellow rectangle between them. If you’re not zoomed in, it seems as though the Northern Gannet lives across the entire continent.
The yellow rectangles themselves are barely visible on the white background as well.

Certainly more evenly represented than the habitats of the six proposed euro-note historical figures.

I love the concept, but boy those data are not beautiful. I find it very hard to receive information.

This is a great example of how species distribution data can tell a broader ecological story. The breeding ranges reflect Europe’s major bio geographic regions surprisingly well, from alpine specialists like the Wall creeper to coastal species like the Northern Gannet. It’s also a subtle reminder that habitat diversity, not just species richness, is what makes European bird conservation so unique. Nicely visualized.
