      I knew it was big but this puts into perspective how big Canada is, as a Californian. It’s a 6-hour drive from LA to SF, imagine doing a road trip from Vancouver to the Maritimes!

      As someone who used to live in Tokyo, it was amazing. So many good memories were had and it really is a totally different world than where I come from. Visit if you can. Glad I left though.

      I mean the same is true if you add tokyo with a map of northern canada or california with northern canada. You’re just arbitrarily adding the empty part of Canada.

      But yeah I’m sure California is expensive because of gentrifiers or tourists or something

      As a Canadian that lives 20 minutes away from mountains, lakes and rivers with few if any people in between, I’m very happy about this.

      I was in Shanghai a few years ago, and I have never seen so many people in the same place at the same time. When I got back, I hugged the trees in my yard.

      This is dumb, three different types of borders. Take largest cities in Cali instead of the full state and the effect would be much less “cool”

      The entire population of Nunavut will fit in the Rose Bowl. Twice.

      I’ve spent time in all three. You’d be surprised how different they are considering their populations are similar.

      It absolutely boggles the mind when sub 400sqft homes are being built in Canada in the name of saving space. I understand expanding sewage, electricity and such infrastructure cost money but COMMON. Drive 10mins in any direction outside of the top 5 largest cities in Canada and you are in endless farmland.
