Another straw for the camels back
most people have their retirement money tied up in business that destroy the environment. they also work and buy goods/services from these same companies and think nothing about it.
it really doesn’t matter what the studies warn as long as this type of behavior continues. telling people their job and financial habits are unethical doesn’t go over very well most of the time.
If only they had warned us about this for decades.
I guess that means it’s time for a certain someone to revoke more funding, and fire more scientists. Hopefully they move somewhere where they are appreciated.

At this point we fully deserve what is coming. I’ve lost all sympathy for us as a species. We are absolutely short sighted greedy consumption monsters. We don’t have the required ability to deny ourselves shiny things to be able to overcome this. We are like children and lack the maturity to be able to resist our desires. It’s a shortcoming that will end us. But hopefully there are other civilizations out there in the universe that are better than us and the universe will still be able to observe itself and think about itself once we are gone.
I was one of the few lucky people to visit glacier national park before they all melted. Please don’t let this be the next thing that’s too late to fix

I’ve got a great idea: let’s boil some more oceans so we can cheat on our homework and make funny pictures and weird porn.
But fixing it will make 3 insanely rich people get more rich at a slower rate so we will never do it until all of us are dead.

Yep, we’re screwed. Most people will be just, what? But in a few years, the impacted will be felt and it won’t surprise me if food shortage will be a dominant issue.
People don’t realize so much of earths oxygen comes from phytoplankton and algae. Killing our oceans is killing our human race.
And no one will do anything about it still.
Maybe we could pop a few bubblers down there for good measure?
World leaders won’t take this seriously ever. We’ll all be burning on the ground outside our parliaments and they’ll announce another pipeline
Look, we are obligated to use those products because there aren’t any viable alternatives especially for low income households. While I would LOVE to completely eliminate those things from my daily life (I do the best that I can), i am not ultra wealthy… I need to work to live (which requires me to use all of the things you mentioned)..
Your comment isn’t a very strong argument against my point.
The solution lies in holding politicians and corporations accountable and letting them know we want alternatives that won’t result in severe consequences to our health and environment.
I work in STEM the research/evidence all suggest that best solution is to work on better policies, continue advancing technology for the overall well being of humanity.
It is mostly up to the few people who harbour all of the $$$ to actually make a calculable difference.
