    1. Hi everyone! Rana here from the DW newsroom, where we are closely watching the aftermath of an attack on Christopher Street Day celebrations in Berlin yesterday. One woman was killed in the incident.
Today, Germany’s Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said authorities believed the Berlin Pride van ramming attack had an Islamist motive.

He said that the suspect was still at large and that authorities had dispatched large deployments of police to Berlin and to train stations, airports and borders around the country.

    2. Surely it’s dangerous for the authorities to speculate given he hasn’t even been caught yet? This will just create more division and stigmatise the Muslim community in Germany further.

Given the current political climate, this is dangerous and only fuel the far right.

I’m a bit surprised that they call the “incident” for what it actually is.
