The message is the same everywhere. The SVP remains as democratic as ever.

Was there an UDC involvement in the decision in Grimisuat ? They are usually against anything that would limit growth, even when it’s about a limit in natural resources.
SVP simply cannot honour the result of the public referendum.
Unfortunately, this happens way too often: A party/the majority of the federal council/parliament loses at the polls and then tries to circumvent the decision by sleazy means. Usually this means implementing things half-assed or split a measure into smaller laws and implement things through that backdoor.
I am sure SVP/UDC will quickly give up on this and only implement it in small, rural municipalities where immigrants don’t even want to move to. Good luck trying that in Zürich or Basel.
