Is this with proper pins? Or with those dumb stringy ones that nerf your chance to get a strike?
Note that ball weight and speed are also factors, but it’s tough to represent all that on one graph.
Also, I believe that the greatest angle you can practically generate with a straight ball is 1-1.5 degrees, unless you want to risk the ire of the bowling center staff.
Maybe I’m misreading it, but is the graph implying that there’s a 0% chance of a strike when the ball hits the pin dead center? Zero offset? If so I simply don’t believe it.
what about Brooklyn shots? I could get reliable strikes back in the day with a damn near straight ball going Brooklyn side.
Great graph! The spike at about 4.5 inches validates the sloppy strike frequency I see.
