Talent drain is literally the key word for all major companies for the past few years. During recruiting seasons, this is all people talk about. Its the same reason new graduate are being offered insane benefits and pay compare to veterans in the companies. Removing overtime limit will make sure all the bright talents leave for oversea 100%. Moronic and short sighted

Unpopular opinion but that’s not necessarily bad nor is it necessarily good.
If you look at successful american and chinese companies, especially in tech, they can crunch very long hours. 996 is a thing. Not a sustainable thing on a societal level but it did create several of the biggest companies in the world.
IMO the biggest problem in Japan is fake work and paperwork and lack of innovation. With the last one likely caused by both lack of hope and autonomy.
In the US an new grad will be like: *I’m going to create a billion dollar startup*
In China a new grad will be like: *I’m going to the US get paid 500k for a few years and then come back to build my own company*
In Japan a new grad will be like: *The best I can hope for is to survive. 仕方がない*
