    Danke Freunde..

This some cheap quality brandy from albania, its not the good stuff probably might be some of the worst… so however you have it its gonna be nth more than a pile of sheeeeeeit.(excuse my fre*ch)

    3. We do not have a tradition for brandy. The producer has a good reputation as far as alcohol production goes but we don’t use it much here.

We are mostly known for our varieties of raki, and wine. If you happen to come back some other time, make sure you get some from any agritourism that you go visit as they are mostly good. I don’t like the ones that are mass produced myself.

Skanderbeg brandy used to be really good and exported globally during communism but unfortunately in the early 00s quality dropped a lot

Um…. don’t drink too much of that , it’s just as strong (or slightly stronger) than whiskey etc , only drink a tiny amount

    6. Room temp, shot glass but drink slowly. Truck drivers mix it with a hot, short black coffee in a cup, kicks you awake on freezing winter mornings. Not really high quality alcohol, but some people develop a taste for it.

Nothing „traditional“ about this bottle, its just cheap average brandy.

if you want to drink good or excellent and not expensive cognac (fuck France and their „trademark“), buy it in Georgia or Ukraine.

If you cant spot difference between raki or brandy, then sorry cant help you…

    8. Neat. It’s not high quality but it’s okay. Try it on the rocks too but for me it tastes better at room temperature. You sip it.

With a glass. The best stuff is made by someone’s grandfather in a hut in his backyard using a still he’s crafted out of scrap metal.

Man this thread is brutal. We’re letting ourselves down here.

Albanians and other Balkan people drink brandy made from grapes (locally known as raki) by sipping it straight from a little tailor made drinking glass that resembles a shot glass or a little mini martini glass sometimes.

More modern ways to consume it are through cocktails. It pairs beautifully with schnapps, cointreau, Fernet branca, st germain, cassis, and much more anything kinda fruity or nutty basically (not all at the same time obviously!). I like to do brandy, schnapps, Fernet (just a dash). The most classic brandy mixed drink is a side car but I personally find it way too sweet and fruity.

If you want to add a non alcoholic pairing soda is best, juice will work well too similar to screwdriver but it really should be consumed in a liquor only sort of cocktail. It’s really (I know this will sound trite – a man’s drink). The drinking culture around it is really similar to whiskey and Scotch but decidedly more Balkan.

It’s a fascinating drink that can vary so much in quality but should always have a warm grapey, sweet finish.

The bottle you have is by most standards these days fairly middle of the road stuff, not bad, not terrible.

If you ever get the chance, try quince raki from the region of Skrapar in Albania.

    11. It makes a very nice Old Fashioned.

      Step 1
Pour in shot glass or snifter if possible.
Step 2. Smell or inhale fumes for pleasure.
Step 3. Drink that Bit$h and quit asking du$b questions.

      Step 4.
Notice more hair appear on your chest.
