Whats this weird obsession with Ford lately, lack of dramatics on federal level?

He has a strong majority, there is zero chance of a election anytime soon but it seems im reading a excessive amount of Ford.

Expect more statements where he inserts himself into the trade talks. Maybe he needs to spend less time on American tv and more time solving the provinces many problems.

    3. I can’t afford the liberals being in power again in Ontario with the liberals in charge federally.

I don’t like Ford, but I will vote for him over the current iteration of the liberal party. They’re ideologically identical to the Feds in their spending and over taxing.

Edit: Sorry liberal supporter. But as bad as Doug Ford is, still not as bad as OLP. Keep downvoting. That’ll change the truth.

    4. The buried lede here is that the leaderless Liberals are now polling better than the PCs. Ford has always been unpopular; the PCs have won in spite of that.

There’s a bit of a trend in this country that leaders don’t tend to last more than three terms. McGuinty, Trudeau, and Chretien all won three elections and then were replaced. Harper won three elections and lost the next one. I’m sure there are more examples from other provinces.

It’s starting to feel like this trend is taking hold again in Ontario.

I wonder if people are going to vote now unlike in the last election which allowed Ford to waltz in?

That’s the real question in my view.

I disapprove as well. The crazy part is, Ford seems to live only in the GTA when it comes to policy. Look at the things he’s done to Toronto that hasn’t touched other parts of the province. Mainly for me, it’s the council shrink, which should’ve happened province wide, and the Bike lane situation. Which is still going through the courts.

Rant aside, I’d love to see the premier visit my community, to understand that there’s more to Ontario than just the GTA, understanding issues is better than just alienating us.

Yeah, Ford is incompetent, and he isn’t addressing the real issues plaguing Ontario (e.g. healthcare), but he’s not a populist, far-right conservative, and the ONPD and OLP both kinda suck too. Ford sucks, but he’s not scary, and that’s why I’d still give him decent odds of winning the next election, despite the Liberals being ahead in this poll. Another majority seems unlikely though.
