      Why need drones and advanced systems when you can just shoot them from a civilian plane

      Question – at this speed and distance from the drone how much does the shooter have to compensate? Is the shooter close enough to aim dead on? I cant tell what weapon system he’s using.

      I don’t know guns, or aerial combat or anything like that, but that would seem to be an insanely difficult thing to do.

      Are shaheds detectable on radar? Or are they just randomly going up and hunting for them?

      I just can’t get over that they are still flying Yaks. Brings me back to my early days playing Red Alert building out my Yak units.

      The guy’s ability to aim at and shoot down an object against a background that doesn’t provide much depth perception, on top of his awareness of what his pilot is doing, is super impressive. I would’ve definitely hit the wing or prop without a doubt.

      At 1:14-1:15 you can see the lower receiver on the rifle. Haenel MK556-A2 5.56mm piston AR-15.

      Say 10 years ago if I heard that someone would be leaning out of the back seat of an old Soviet prop plane shooting down UAVs using an American-type AR-15 I would have thought Tom Clancy went on an acid trip or something while writing one of his pulp fiction novels. 😀
