American lives have been permanently altered. People lost their jobs, critical research was disrupted, food and water safeguards were weakened, and the country lost brilliant scientists and young talent.
Now Musk is dismissing it as though he simply “got carried away,” as if this were some harmless lapse in judgment. DOGE was an unmitigated disaster. It inflicted catastrophic damage while barely making a dent in the national debt, and we may never fully understand the extent of what Musk and his team destroyed.
Anyone reducing that record to “he got carried away” is either willfully ignorant or a complete moron.
No worries, Elon. I mean, which one of us hasn’t gotten carried away and taken away food and medical supplies from the poorest people in the world, leading to hundreds of thousands of otherwise preventable deaths?
If he genuinely regrets his actions, he should make amends. Pay those folks back out of his own pocket, fund the projects he slashed, and step back from political actions. He won’t do any of that, so his regret is completely hollow.
