    1. Hi everyone! Rana here from the DW newsroom with this breaking story. Here’s what we know so far:
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has just announced a Cabinet reshuffle. This comes on the heels of the resignation of conservative heavyweight Jens Spahn over a surrogacy controversy.
Details of the reshuffle are still emerging but we do know that Nina Warken is set be the new chief of staff, succeeding Thorsten Frei who Merz plans instead to replace Spahn with as the leader of the parliamentary group of the CDU/CSU.

    2. Vorstadtjesus on

So we went from bad to worse. Impressive, considering where we started.

    3. Can’t believe this walking meme / clown Amthor is there. As if Merz alone is not ridiculous enough

    4. The damage had already been done long before the surrogacy scandal. There are few, if any, paths left for Merz to save his government from further disgrace.

    5. Maybe just remove yourself, and a couple of AFD (not so)silent supporters in your cabinet.. that would be very helpful.

    6. Making sure noone holds responsibility for his deeds. A nice fresh new start after the very long Summerbreak of eight weeks

    7. I can only assume that whatever he does will be in an attempt to make the AfD look more appealing.
