As someone who is a riding association director in a riding with a sitting MPP, this is a big yikes and definitely not the norm.
I can see a world where Stan Cho ends up resigning completely, and this is a riding that has a very good chance of going Liberal. I believe they lost it by less than 2% in the last election.

I’ve worked on the party side of politics and with riding associations. Most associations don’t have much outside of a writ period so outside of the selfishness of Cho doing this, he is genuinely screwed over financially in a very, very vulnerable riding next election. If it’s not him, it’s whoever the candidate will be.
Regardless of party preference, this type of stuff is just embarrassing. The fact that this even happened is a big concern to internal processes.
