When I went to the toilet of a ramen shop (was on a separate floor, so I just went to the toilet) the owner coerced me, I told him he could call the police, the police then coerced me and forced me to pay 30.000 yen… (probably my worst experience with japan)

It’s a private store, they can do whatever the hell they want. They can just tell you to leave if you don’t make a purchase. I think they were arrested for making a threat.
7-11 Japan is lucky that they don’t have the same homeless problem that the US has.
Otherwise, that bathroom would look like a warzone within a week of being open for public use (there’s a reason why Starbucks locked their bathrooms to non-paying folks)
I will ALWAYS buy something in a konbini that lets me use their toilet, but I totally get why the konbini in gaijin infested spots close them entirely.
