Far be it from Smith to even attempt to do anything of the sort, Alberta within a united Canada indeed…
As an albertan im far more interested in maintaining oil sales to america to keep us employed and paid well. The amount of us alcohol we buy is negligible and i agree with smith that its not worth poking the bear when they could shut down our entire industry overnight.
Nobody in Alberta should be holding their breath waiting for their Premier to do anything about American booze. Individuals and businesses should be taking things in to their own hands a boycott on their own.

Don’t even remember the last time I purchased anything other than Canadian liquor / beer at the store, and I don’t think that will ever change.
That isn’t going to happen but it should. Despite still allowing US booze in Alberta and Saskatchewan, we didn’t receive a tariff reduction or exemption (outside of oil and potash, which the US needs). We should be standing with the rest of the country.
The UCP under Danielle Smith will never put Albertans ahead of Americans.

Business owners are not forced to carry US products. However, Alberta and Saskatchewan should have joined with the rest of the provinces early on with the boycott in a show of solidarity.
