I assume they’re hand made in Germany, so you’re paying the price for not exploiting people in 3rd world countries.

You could call some that are located less central and ask how much the Kugelmännel are.
I wouldn’t call the toys. You put them on a shelf and look at them (and collect more)

Do they start chocolate? Even for made in Germany €80 is so steep it’s verging on vertical!
Handmade wooden toys are always super expensive.
These are handmade wooden figurines made in Saxony, in the Erzgebirge usually around Seiffen. There you can still visit the workshops and especially during Christmas time it is beautiful there with many Christmas markets, lights and miner’s parades. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ore_Mountain_folk_art explains more about it.

We have a similar shop in my city that mostly targets tourists and misrepresents where its items are actually made. While I can’t say for sure this specific one is illegitimate, I literally asked the staff point-blank and they lied straight to my face.
On top of that, wooden toys in these types of places are frequently manufactured in prisons or sheltered workshops for individuals with disabilities, so it’s always smart to double-check so you don’t get scammed.
Probably hand made and painted in germany, price seems realistic to me.
People making these are paid 20 euros per hour, if they need 1-2 hours to make one, thats your 40-80 euros if we want the producer and store to make a profit too.
My grandpa made wood carvings, mostly for churches, theme parks etc, they go for hundreds, often thousands of euros. Even small nameplate sorta things will be hundreds of euros.
