Meine Frau und ich denken über eine Verkleinerung nach und möchten ein gutes Zuhause für eine Menge englischsprachiger Bücher finden. (Hauptsächlich Belletristik und ELT-Bücher.)
Thriftbooks wären eine Option gewesen, wenn sie tatsächlich in der Schweiz tätig gewesen wären (was nicht der Fall ist), andernfalls wären Ricardo/eBay ziemlich miese Lösungen – zeitaufwändig und kostspielig.
Ich habe mir Orte wie den angesehen Bücher-Brocky in Aarau aber ihre Umgang mit Büchern lässt mich vermuten, dass sie mehr recyceln als sie in ein neues Zuhause umwandeln.
Als ich das letzte Mal gefragt habe, haben mich einige Leute hilfreich darauf hingewiesen Bücherbergwerk in Bern Aber sie waren lange Zeit geschlossen, und jetzt, wo sie wieder geöffnet haben, Sie scheinen keine Spenden anzunehmen.
Eine Person schien an meiner ELT-Sammlung interessiert zu sein, verschwand dann aber.
Die häufig vorgeschlagene Idee, außerhalb des Hauses einen Tisch/ein Regal für „kostenlose Bücher“ aufzustellen, bleibt eine Möglichkeit, mit der Gefahr, dass sich nur noch mehr unerwünschte Bücher ansammeln.

A branch of Bucher Brockli is probably the best place, you’ve got a handful of books that might interest someone but the computer books especially are likely outdated and only of interest to a niche collector.
I can’t imagine that the market for used english books is really big here, as there‘s hardly any for german ones. There’s just no demand so most brockis indeed recycle rather than rehome. They can’t ask for more than a few francs tops for a book, while it occupies valuable space. It’s what it is.
Where are you located? I would be interested in some of your books.
How many books are you talking about? There are some public bookshelf in Zürich and they are working super well that’s where I put my books and also always grab a book.
Maybe vastela books near goldbrunnenplatz in Züri would be interested?
There are lot places around zurich (and i imagine in other cities too) with small library/book exchange shelf on the street. If there is space, you can put some of your books there. English is pretty popular in Zurich so they have demand. I myself only look for english books in this mini libraries.

I always give to the various Bücher Brocky. They put them in the big containers to sort so that their shelves have some kind of organisation. Bern and Zurich Enge also have sort areas that look disorganized, it is just smaller and still in bags. I’ve given probably ten Migros bags to Bern and have seen the books I donated on the shelves.
