The Gulf is pretty brown water close to Texas and Louisiana where the rivers dump water into the gulf. Fishing is interesting. Lots of oil rigs in the gulf, huge commerce ships transporting things into this country all the time and up through the intercostal waterway. Cruise ships in New Orleans and Houston. Pretty busy gulf overall.
