America: symbol of our values designed to welcome newcomers to our country

India: statue of one of the founders of our country, a pivotal figure in our fight for freedom

Australia: idk like a big sheep or something

Na sorry that is not 110 meter statue you gotta give it up for the motherland calls.

    3. I deny that the pedestal is part of the statue. That’s because you put the statue *on* the pedestal.

Australia you got to get your shit together.

Some 50 ft sheep face Hutt statue is just embarrassing

I’m kinda surprised NZ hasn’t built a 25.1m tall sheep just to be petty and steal the title off Australia TBH.

Don’t show this to the President. He will build a 183m statue of himself.

I wonder if Antárticas is Roll Cage Mary? There’s a Virgin Mary statute surrounded by a steel cage to protect her at McMurdo Station, the largest U.S. base. If I remember correctly it’s a memorial to a guys who’s bulldozer broke through the ice. It’s probably three feet tall.

I’ve seen the one in Dakar from the ground and the air, it is hideous as only the best of communist propaganda can be.

    9. Looking it up that india statue is actually fucking massive jesus christ

Is kinda weird to make a statue that big of a real person

If the pedestal counts towards the height, then Christ the Redeemer is the tallest. The pedestal was built by God himself, and it was incredibly difficult to put the statue up there.

The Crazy Horse monument is supposed to be 643 ft (195.99 m.) once it’s completed. They’re basically carving a mountain.

    12. I always find it weird that statues get credit for the height of their pedestal.

I mean Christ the Redeemer is at the top of a big cliff side why doesn’t it get credit for the whole cliff

I never heard of Big Merino before… I feel like my life is just a little better. Big sheepy supremacy

    14. Isn’t Motherland’s Call at Mamayev Kurgan in Stalingrad/Volgograd often listed Europe’s tallest. Also Mother Ukraine is 62 meters tall (without it’s base)

Antarctica only has a few statues, mostly busts of leaders (such as Lenin) only a few meters tall

    16. The definitions here are doing a lot of fuzzy work. If pedestals are counted, what counts as a pedestal? Does a statue at the top of a building count the whole building? One example is Philadelphia City Hall which is 167m counting the little statue at the top. Should count if the one in Portugal does. There are a lot of examples that are much taller.

I don’t think this is accurate, there’s an 18 metre Buddha in South Australia

    18. Using the Pyramid of Giza as a pedestal for my green plastic army man to snipe a spot on this list.

    19. 1. Those statues have kind of ironic naming (except the merino one)

      2. Adding the pedestal to the statue’s height is cheating.

    20. There should be a separate „tallest human in statue form“ category so we can exclude the parts that don’t belong to the human figure like the pedestal (and torch and sword etc)

    21. [This one](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQJC7971_PlZz7gYPUAwOxmsbDP-jbMmL2X34RlHBKVfJXZrmtmMcuHkf0&s=10) is missing from the list.

Completed in 1967 on Mamayev Kurgan hill, it stands 85 meters (279 feet) tall from its feet to the tip of its raised sword, making it the tallest statue of a woman in Europe.

It was built to honor the soldiers who fought the Nazis out of Stalingrad, and sealed the destiny of Nazi Germany in Russia after their defeat in the outskirts of the city, and the pocket in which the 6th army was trapped in 1942-43.

Yeah big merino. It is time now to start a religion or an ideology. Prey the holy horns and wool. Wait, i just remember there is already a story about a golden fleece….
      Anyway, you stay my favorite
