Across all three birth cohorts, higher PFAS mixture levels were associated with higher fecal calprotectin levels later in childhood.

They found that both legacy PFAS compounds and newer replacement PFAS were associated with intestinal inflammation, suggesting that a broad range of these chemicals may influence children’s gut health.

As PFAS are a large and diverse family of chemicals does it state anywhere what the mixtures were?
We know PFOA and PFOS that used to be commonly applied to consumer goods were problematic in these ways, but does this include compounds like PTFE and those in medications?
Could this be related to the increase in colorectal cancer in young people?
