Ich erinnere mich an eine Zeit, als man an Silvester nur ein Feuerwerk und vielleicht eine Hochzeit sah.
Früher war es in meiner Nachbarschaft ruhig. So ruhig, dass man an einem Sommerwochenende tatsächlich eine Siesta machen könnte und nur Grillen hören würde.
Jetzt ist ganz Limassol eine Scheißshow. Tägliches Feuerwerk, Besitzer, die ihre Hunde überall und jederzeit kacken und pinkeln lassen, Musik zu jeder Tageszeit, egal zu welcher Stunde
Den Leuten ist es einfach scheißegal mehr. Wir wurden arrogant, dreist, unhöflich und respektlos. Deine Nachbarn scheren sich einen Dreck um dich.
Jede Grenze ist eine Beleidigung für ihr Ego.
Bitten Sie sie, ihre Hunde im Haus zu lassen? Das geht Sie nichts an.
Sie parken unaufgefordert auf Ihrem Grundstück?
Schade.
Sie sprechen ein Problem an?
Du bist jetzt ein Arschloch.
Rufst du die Polizei? Schade, das System macht verdammte Scheiße nicht.

Limassol has been a shitshow for quite some time now.
But why even? How it’s permitted is beyond me as well, but it sounds like you should be poking your municipality like there’s no tomorrow.
Why are they doing daily fireworks?
Was this yesterday? I assume you’re in my area, City of Dreams do it every Friday but this was something else, much worse.
Worst thing is , lot of people treat it as normal and you are the ‚bad guy‘ if you complain.

Born and raised in Limassol 34 years.
I also fondly remember how it used to be. More quiet, you could hear the frogs and crickets downstream at night, fireworks were actually reserved for special occasions, you didn’t have to sell your liver to eat at a restaurant, you would get quality food (even cucumbers tasted like candy in the 90s), no traffic problems, you could leave your keys on the car door without worrying, neighbours had your back in anything, it was like a big community.
I feel like it begun it’s decent around the early 2010s but I feel it took a decade to become what it is today. COVID sealed the deal.
Never have I really wanted to move out until the last couple of years, though. What the fuck have they done to this place?

I used to live in center Larnaka and i was losing my mind with all the cars and people and fireworks from Makenzie every night, my bills are higher but now i have peace of mind at least.
