Literally just donate a small % of your free cash flow to the public good (not shuffling money into a foundation) and people won’t hate you so much, it’s not that hard
META had $46.1 billion in free cash flow in 2025 and $60.46 billion in net income. If they donated like 10% a year of that, I bet they’d help a lot of people and increase their brand equity by more than buying back shares would do.

Thousands of people got laid off because companies went all-in on LLMs. They can’t find jobs because LLMs are filtering out nearly every applicant. Savings are finite. Mutual aid isn’t nearly as widespread as people like to think it is. It’s mass producing people with nothing left to lose.

I think this is time for some self reflection on the part of the tech execs. They should think about questions such as …
What have I done to make so many people mad at me that I now need to have armed security guards?
Have I used my tech (or allowed my tech to be used) for tracking people’s personal data and whereabouts and violating their privacy?
Is my tech being used to wipe out massive amounts of jobs and create significant job uncertainty for people of all ages and all education levels?
Have I made energy costs go up, or made climate change worse, or created dangerous water and noise pollution because of my data centers?
Have I allowed my tech to be used for purposes of war or killing people in general?
What can I do to ensure my tech isn’t used for these and other nefarious purposes?
you know if you have so many people pissed at you that you’re scared of attacks, you might want to figure out why they are mad and stop doing that
