“Cyclosporiasis can become dangerous when someone infected becomes severely dehydrated from diarrhea. A very small proportion of cases require hospitalization. For treatment, the antibiotic trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole is effective, alongside supportive care to prevent dehydration.“
