Yes, we already know that. The problem is nobody is doing anything about it and the resistance keeps telling us they are powerless.

    2. KirbyDumber88 on

He’s gonna try his damndest to do it, but it wont happen. He’s in straight up panic mode because they’re all fucked. Go out and vote!

    3. Heathmeisterr on

We knew this long ago. It’s the playbook. Hope this sparks the revolution we need.

    4. estoypooping2 on

Yeah the fact that he hasn’t called it already just shows you that he’s trying to drop it last minute.

      A very convenient national emergency

    5. happinessMachiine on

This has been obvious the entire fucking time, current guy who works in bread factory says.

    6. Don Con wants to basically suspend elections and remain in power until his soul has been claimed.

    7. The emergency is that democrats are still legally allowed to vote.

      Republicans hate democracy.

    8. -Great-Scott- on

Nobody cares what he says or does anymore. Fuck him and his cult. We’re sick of their shit. He crosses that line we drag his fat ass out.

    9. States run elections.

      States run elections.

Media, keep these words in your head.

    10. PatronSaintOfCunts on

We always have figured this was going to happen. Theoretically you’d assume there’s a plan. Being solely reliant on democrats to finally spine up seems like a frightening prospect. So what’s the plan?

    11. Uhh duh. What better way to steal an election then to call everything fraud and just put who you want in power.

    12. Declaring an emergency does not stop voting. Being at war does not stop voting. Nothing he does will stop voting.

They are scared they will lose control and be impeached. They are fear mongering as much as possible right now to force a low voter turnout.

What does he always do? Chicken out and back down.

I am going to vote against trump’s regime in November, one way or another. His corruption is over the top.

    14. Sardonnicus on

      There will still be elections.

The real problem is will there still be people that honor the results of the elections.

If the answer to either of those questions is no then there’s only one place we go from there.

    15. DrippyBurritoMD on

This is a great reminder: check your voter registration. Get 2-3 friends to check theirs as well.

What does the right wing scream when they see government overriding the will of the people?

    17. rednap_howell on

      >So what we have seen is so inimical to what it has historically meant to be an American president, where integrity, courage, straightforwardness, and an interest in the lives of the people that are being governed were at the front and center.

      >We have a president now who’s there solely to enrich himself, his family, and his cronies, and to wield power in a way that satisfies his basest instincts. We need people to come out and vote against that.

    18. NinecloudSoul on

And the states will roundly ignore him and conduct elections.

This is just more desperate flailing.

    19. States run their own elections and we have never cancelled an election at any point in our history.

Not when we were fighting our first civil war. Not when we were fighting both world wars. Never. The federal government has no precedent or power to cancel elections.

Remember that. The Federal government has essentially *zero* power over elections. Its intentionally designed that way.

    20. clam-caravan on

He’s panicking and flailing. We will still have elections and Democrats are going to take back the House.

    21. redmeansstop on

Declaring a state of emergency for the election should trigger an immediate general strike. I know we are all so resistant to it because we need our jobs to live, but a general strike for election day and the week leading up to it would be something..

    22. justmisspellit on

Sign up to work the polls, everyone. Figure out how you can help on Election Day

This is what I’m hungry for. So much press busily giving him a free pass with words like „exaggeration“ and „unsubstantiated“. It’s like Alternative Facts all over again.

What I want is the breakdown of what he’s up to. Why he is treating all you Americans like stupid children. Following the money is a great start with the orange idiot, but let’s raise our gaze a little higher still.

He’s laying the groundwork for declaring a state of emergency so that he can suspend the mid terms, or at least deploy his thugs to the polling booths and control the chain of custody of votes.

      Here we go!

    24. flyover_liberal on

I can’t believe that we’re going to wind up in another Civil War because of the stupidity of supporters of an 80 year old pedophile.

    25. I don’t care.

Everyone should be planning to show up, in person, and vote for every Dem on the ballot as early as possible in your state.

These people can throw all the tantrums they want. If we all show up and vote it will not matter.

If they try any BS, call all your reps (Democrat OR Republican) and DEMAND they stand their ground. They are counting on you flaking out because of all the obstacles that may be put up. Don’t fall for it.

    26. Motor_Somewhere7565 on

If it’s any small comfort, when it comes to the elections, Trump has had very little success when challenging it in court (including 2020, haha), so anything he tries will be brought to court, too, and every time, his legal teams have bungled and blundered weak and conspiracy-filled cases, which even conservative judges (who aren’t named Thomas or Alito) have ruled against.

The scariest part, obviously, is that a well-oiled machine run by competent enough people could pull off this plot, but their fatal flaw is the idiot on top who cannot keep his mouth shut. It’s going to be the same story come the midterms. As far-right and corrupt as SCOTUS has become, even they won’t be able to ultimately stomach Trump’s election interference (again).

I’m not giving any credit to the right, either. They all just wish they could do this quietly and efficiently, but Trump blows it all up every time because he wants the attention all on him. This is also why it’s so important to vote this year and in 2028.

    27. There isn’t an emergency power that allows Trump to halt the elections. Not even civil war.

    28. So the election in 2016 wasn’t rigged (Trump wins), then the election in 2020 was rigged (Trump loses), then the election in 2024 (Trump wins again) got unrigged and was safe again, and then the upcoming election in 2026 will be rigged…the primaries are already been rigged.

So I am meant to believe that under the Trump administration they got everything fair when they came into power in 2024 but then somehow things got rigged AGAIN for the upcoming election while the entire government is under their control. Do these people really think we are as dumb as they look?

    29. Blackbeards-delights on

Declare an emergency b because of declassified documents that he released that contradict every single statement he made

    30. Wait, is this why he’s brought up SleepyJoe’s sham election every time he’s opened his anal sphincter for years? It’s almost like the right’s had this plan in their back pocket the whole time. Fascist traitors.

    31. nasorrty346tfrgser on

You know why this is scary, because deep down me and you know that the military would obey

    32. IllustriousBerry3260 on

Yeah, no fucking shit. This has been blindingly obvious for a while now.

It’s mind-boggling that so many well-informed and well-educated people still believe the midterms will go ahead as normal.

Trump has never played by the rules and he’s made it quite clear, in his second term especially, that he has no intention of ever doing so.
