The facist Americans want to invade us, we are just currently waiting out to see if the deal with the facist themselves or not. If the dont have free midterm elections they will be coming for us. So arent we defacto at war footing with them?
I can’t say that I disagree… And maybe in today’s world he’s the PM we need right now… I don’t see any viable alternatives that could or would do a better job given the current global political climate.

I would disagree with this statement. We are facing endless tariffs and threats of sanctions and more tariffs which all seem to be solely to destroy our economy. The US president has openly threatened to redraw our border, abandon security treaties made with us, and as recently as this week continue to show maps that include our country as a part of there’s. I realize the Americans seem to have gone mad in the last 2 years but read the above and replace American and Canada with country A and country B and no one would deny that we are at war for our survival.
Good article, what they write is true. Liberals are consolidating power & passing bills like it’s war time, because it is the most uncertainty we have gotten in recent memory.
Canada (and the west) in general got too comfortable, and Trump & other issues are exposing the crack. Carney has essentially been given the mandate to help repair the foundations so we aren’t so exposed. Given that, he’ll have a long, long leash as long as the current uncertainty keeps up.
Like the article mentioned, it really isn’t about ideology right now. Ideology goes out the window for most when in such uncertain time. You can love or hate Carney’s ideology, but it’s pretty undeniable that he is smart, competent, and will stand strong. Exactly what Canadians will be looking for at times like these.
Good! I was born in 91 and have only know a relatively stable global geopolitical landscape up until now. Things have changed and we’ve entered a new sort of Cold War type of geopolitics that requires this sort of leadership and military strength to remain secure.
That’s because all of the west and G7 are heavily funding war efforts like never before. We are prepping for a war with china the rising power and USA is too ignorant and corrupt to let go of any control globally
Well. He sort of is. The whole world is preparing for war right now. Historically whenever you see such preparations happen it means war time is coming if not already at our doorstep. I do think a world war is on its way.
More than one front, an economic war, tariff war, and support for ground wars; not to mention NATO union pressures and heads of governments that overstep. Naturally our leader is taking the role of commander in chief with a strategy to win.
I am grateful to have someone educated and experienced at the helm. He has difficult decisions to make that may not all be popular with the more ideological crowd but he had a firm goal in mind to strengthen Canada as an independent nation and I support it.
He’s governing like he expects the global situation is going to get worse, not better.
For example, the pesticide thing is worded in such a way as to suggest it’s intended to be a backup plan if the less-harmful solutions we currently use, suddenly become unavailable.
Like if another country was trying to use trade sanctions to starve us, and we suddenly had to make CERTAIN our own crops didn’t fail.
