      Unironically I love this. It just shows how emotional people are, and completely removes any serious point of discussion about „well but the majority of people think that…“

      I can’t wait to see if there is a rebound once trump is out of office. Or really how big the rebound will be: it’ll be hard for the next president to do worse.

      I feel like this is just a map of people being over emotional. Completely ignoring the US, what has China done in the last 3 years that made a large majority of these countries start viewing them more positively at a staggering rate? A lot of them had 50%-200% increases, which is hilarious (ex. Germany going from 19%->33% is a 74% increase and Argentina going from 40%->50% is a 25% increase the way I am measuring). Canada going from 14% to 44% in 3 year?! lmao I get that people don’t like Trump, but this is just silly.

      This data should surprise nobody. The US is being led by the absolute worst president of all time. It is mired in a senseless war. It’s economic policies have disrupted world markets. It’s immigration enforcement is harsh and unpredictable. It’s government is untrustworthy, threatening, and acts without consulting former international partners. It’s a rogue state.

      Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria really surprised me. Given our history with these countries, I’m shocked their still hanging in there with us.

      It’d be a lot cooler if they also asked people in which of the two countries they’d rather live the rest of their lives. Trump sucks, fuck ICE, and all that, but his fuckery holds no candle to China’s fuckery. I’m with the Swedes on this one; they both suck.

      China, of course, is a dictatorship. But at least (so far) it has kept it’s problems at home rather than randomly invading places.

      Thinking either Xi or Trump will „do the right thing regarding world affairs“ is fucking insane.

      I find the „Respects the personal freedoms of its people“ question very enlightening because there is a factual answer. The factual answer is that people in the US are about as free as anywhere in the world, even more so than Europe in many ways, and that people in China are not very free at all.

      While this is blatantly and overwhelmingly the truth, very few countries have more than 50% of their population that know the correct answer. Goes to show how deeply flawed human knowledge is.

      Even the countries whose populations get the answer right (Japan, India, Israel, etc) don’t actually know the answer. These are just countries that have geopolitical alliances with the current US administration and/or conflict with China.

      Even if the reasoning is probably flawed, its interesting that Israel and Japan are the people who at least have a correct understanding of the world outside their borders.
