      Respectfully, Elon dug his greasy talons into quite literally basically every aspect of the federal government with DOGE (rest is piss, even if it accomplished its mission) so it’s hard to take this seriously

      Beside the political stuff that I have no stake in: does the car (or any car for that matter) really have a sensor that independently monitors the pedal positions or is this just derived from the throttle input sensor?

      What was in this guys mind? Did he expect a „sports car experience“ or was he suicidal/homicidal. I wonder what his driving record looks like.

      Not that there aren’t issues, but pedal confusion is quite common. I remember a while back it was Toyotas „accelerating out of nowhere“ and it turned out that people were just pressing the wrong pedal, and because they thought they had the right one, they would try to press it harder to brake more, which only led to going faster.

      Off topic, but a Tesla m3 dangerously cut me off yesterday and I my car’s collision detection hit the brakes to avoid hitting her. I honked my horn, then drove up along her to see that the driver was alone in her car and dancing in her seat. She had her hands off the wheel and was dancing without a care in the world. I honked at her again and she ignored me (or couldn’t hear me).

      Fucking Tesla drivers.

      Of course they lied. It was obvious from the beginning – Tesla’s self driving only allows 5mph over the posted limits. The driver was trying to get out of it.

      So we should expect all the news media stories that put out “Tesla self driving drives into house” stories to write retractions to clarify that it was the drivers fault?

      I drive a bus in UK and we got camera pointing at the pedals, while we don’t have self driving busses or whatnot but surely a camera pointing at that spot and on the face, surely that should be a standard expecially with AI and companies having access to that data to manipulate ( if that can be done) to push a narrative? Not saying thats the case as i am not sure what companies like Tesla can access and edit before being given to authoritys in cases like this

      I wouldn’t be surprised if it were like a lot of accidents with old people. Panicked, and hit *something* but it was the wrong thing.

      Self driving cars are training people to not know what’s going on.

      I just read about the search history and lol he’s really not doing himself any favors there

      Everyone who uses FSD regularly knew this was BS…FSD is better than a human driver at this point imo

      With cars that are basically computers connected to the internet is there any possibility that now, or in the future, the manufacturers can go in and just.. change this info to make themselves look better?

      I would be willing to bet a month’s wages that all those people who crash into store fronts and other cars drive with one foot on the gas and one foot on the brakes instead of using just one foot for both like normal people do.
