Makes you wonder how common this has been during the history of warfare. I imagine a lot of soldiers have found themselves in the position of being badly injured and unlikely to receive any help that could save them and opted to just end it however they could.
At least it’s easier with a gun or grenade.
What a bleak and hellish strip of land the drone-zone is. Moreso if you are fighting in it and know that nobody is or can get to you if you are injured.

Honestly, I get it. There’s basically two options here…
1) A drone comes and hits you again. What if it just blows your arms off and you can’t even kill yourself now?
2) Say a drone doesn’t come and they just leave you to die. Guess what? No one is likely coming either! You’re just going to lay there, unable to move well and slowly die. And it’s not going to be a pleasant time either.
