I worked in a bearing plant that made parts for New Horizons, it always amazed me that I may have helped make something that may be in flight for longer than life has been known to exist.
Interstellar travel is out of the question with the current technology. The fastest spacecraft to date reached a speed of ~80000km/h. This equates to 0.0075% of the speed of light. The closest star is 3.5ly away. So it will take approx. 45000 years to reach it.
