I can’t help but think about massive energy waste here.
When I worked retail, I had this realization that so many waste comes from what I call „the last mile“ – the people on minimal wages that are not paid enough and don’t have time to deal with stuff. And their management doesn’t care too. Tons of misplaced, useless trash, bags of wasted food, broken ACs, opened windows with ACs, malfunctioning fridges, you name it.

It is warm outside. Let’s pump some more warmth from the inside to the outside.

The exhaust is supposed to go out a sealed exit. Usually a piece of plywood in the shape of the door/window with holes cut out to fit the ducts. They obviously don’t care.

I’m running my Suntec Transform for my home office in a similar way, but I put the device outside, blowing in through a board that has just a hose connector. This creates positive pressure inside the building, pushing OUT warm air deeper in the rooms through the vents, and replacing it with cold air. In this case, Zara’s machine will just pull in warm air from anywhere it can get it becuase it creates negative pressure. (in addition to having a huge open door – so one could almost count it as being outside).

Probably the regular fixed AC is broken. They use these big portable ACs temporarily

This can be used to cool a whole building (multiple rooms) instead of one room

A company i worked for kn Germany was too cheap to provide proper AC to our office space and brought in one of these. It did not work and there were a few fays we left esrly because the indoor hest was over legal limits

In the middle aisle between those two glass doors I can see vents above. They create an air barrier between in- and outdoor.
Originally installed to keep the warm air inside during winter, now it has the counter effect. So as wasteful as this seems, it’s actually not that bad reddit. For an improvised solution I’ll give it a pass.

These fuckers hunt my dreams now..
I work as a soundguy and tell the house every week that we can’t hear jack shit with a bunch of these buzzing. They tell me the performance is off without cooling. Then we can’t hear shit, and people get mad.. And some also gets sick from the ac blowing on max setting in their face.
