A count of the number of vessels in the sea of Azov came to it being about 120 of all kinds.

Stay Strong Ukraine

all with mostly moscovian crews, not crewed by chinese or indians.
The Sea of Azov is shallow, so sinking a ship will cause problems.
No one knows how many ships are in the Sea of Azov as the moscovians turn off their transponders. 120 ships did have their transponders on in early july.
obviously, the shadow fleet is in the hundreds.
Damn.
I don’t even know how this happened.
But damn. Keep going.
Crazy
In these troubling times, I take comfort in the fact that there is always one russian shadow fleet vessel burning somewhere, kindling the flame of hope for a brighter future.
Air wolves
Outstanding!
You have to admire Ukraine, but the way they have changed land and naval warfare is somewhat terrifying.
I wonder if that Dragonfire laser system the Royal Navy are installing re-balances it at sea, but it’s almost like they’ve made infantry obsolete.
They’re not just hitting the backs of ships anymore. They’re taking them out completely. Nice.
Soon there will be no ships left to hit.
Even after the first day, the orcs should’ve recognized the area is closed. Yet they keep sending, the dumb fucks.
What could they possibly gain from subjecting the tanker fleet to attacks like this?
I’ll bet ya they’ll send more tonight, like the absolute morons they are.
This is phenomenal – the effect is going to be felt in muscovy. Note how the drones target the bridge and control rooms, not the hull. The Ukrainians don’t want to cause a natural disaster.
76! If true that’s amazing and a ridiculously effective blockade.
According to AI, a mid-sized oil tanker costs between $20m and $40m. In other words, Ukraine has taken out between $1.5b and $3.0b in just in ships.
If they’re full of oil, the oil alone is worth another $25m. Assuming half of the 76 ships were full, that’s another ~$1b lost.
Without even considering the long-term strategic losses, in a few months (days?), Ukraine has probably taken out over $3b in Ruzzain tanker assets. Amazing!
Russian warship?
If Ukraine now attacks ships and cargo carrying trucks, what is to stop it from shooting down the IL76’s and IL96’s, or other flying freighters? What they are doing now seems to be a new dimension to the war, and may accelerate the sides to negotiate.
Oh my god….
Are there any estimates of the number of ships Russia has in its shadow fleet? Dozens? Hundreds?
Did all the hit ships sink?
Amazing
Ukraine is having a Special Military Operation in Russia but Pskov is now calling it a war
From Kyiv in 3 days to the shadow fleet being hammered down into the sea. Fantastic
Do the ports have such good air defenses that they aren’t targeted instead? As much as I like seeing Russian ships hit, they become useless if they can’t load or unload fuel.
Banging ships with a bangin‘ tune.
More.
Well damn. I tried to count how many of these tankers exist in an earlier thread – looks like **171** smaller river-sea tankers („Volgoneft“ or „Volga-Don-Max“ types). The current strikes have damaged around 50 of them (taking into account ships other than tankers, double strikes on the same ship etc). These are the only ships which can load/unload fuel at shallow ports – they’re not limited to the major oil terminals. So this is going well…
