    1. They also claimed literally anything they dont like was „waste, fraud, and abuse“ even though it was just already congressionally approved funds they didnt like

      Thank God.

300,000 of jobs and millions of children, poor, and helpless people dead too.

      Elon is a mass murderer.

      Typical conservative corruption.

Quit supporting people who support this corruption. Remove family and friends from your life who want this ideology to continue. At this point, the only way forward is without them.

    4. Tainted_Bruh on

The point was to completely infect the system, install backdoors, and scrape all our data while bypassing congress or any rule of law.

And it succeeded. The efficiency/savings was just a thin ruse.

Future college grads and other job seekers better mark their calendars for 2029, because regardless of the next U.S. President’s party affiliation, the Federal Government’s hiring spree when that person takes office is going to be somewhere between tremendous and legendary.

    6. Honestly though, it’s one of the implementations of this administration that did what it set out to do (not the thing they SAID it was supposed to do, because that wasn’t the true goal). Those things were the intentional destruction of certain programs and organizations, the collection of sensitive citizen data, the threatening and subsequent obedience under duress of remaining organizations, and the attempt at removing targeted safeguards that prevented certain companies and people from doing whatever they wanted in certain areas.

Doge’s whole purpose was to steal confidential data. They did that so it was mission accomplished. No one will be punished. I hate this timeline.

    8. StoppableHulk on

One day I wish the media would just stop being so gullible as to take a liars‘ word for the purpose of something.

DOGE didn’t „fail“ to find savings. It did not even try. It was not its intent. It was a very transparent and low-effort smokescreen for the actual intent of stealing the private and sensitive data of every one of the nearly 400 million people in this country.

You don’t literally break into people’s offices and connect foreign and unvetted devices into government servers or wholesale download important software applications onto private devices to „identify fraud.“

You don’t hire dipshit expendable 20-somethings out of the intern pool.

If you want to find fraud you do it the way everyone always has. You hire legit forensic accountants to open books and comb through them and publish the results.

Anyone with any degree of a functioning brain could tell this was a data theft operation. They got in quick, they stole massive troves of data the contents of which we may never fully know, and likely sold them of to private buyers and foreign governments for their own profit.

That’s what happened. Your tax information, your private data, mine, all of ours, it was literally stolen in the largest and most sensitive data breach potentially in the history of data breaches, by a foreign agent and his cadre of goons.

And I cannot stress how obvious this is based on the cast of ghouls they hired at DOGE. Not a single one of their barely 20-person skeleton crew was remotely qualified to lead a wide-scale forensic investigation.

Donald Trump *could* have done that. He could have actually opened government books to the public and hired people both capable and comitted to finding fraud.

That isn’t what he did. And the media blithely playing along with the fantasy helps make it seem like those of us vehmently opposed to DOGE are opposed to identifying an correcting government waste.

When in reality I“m opposed to Elon Musk and a gaggle of interns whom he’s probably fucking break into public offices to steal my data and sell it off to Putin and Netanyahu and whatever other grimy filthy company is interested.

    9. ONLY 300,000 jobs lost? Wow, I guess I should feel honored to be a part of such a relatively small group…
I’ll stop there before getting another temporary Reddit ban.

DOGE cut nearly 30,000 jobs at the Department of Veterans Affairs as part of that save-no-money slaughter. It’s especially cruel when you look at what they did to mental health services, which already wasn’t meeting targets for wait times and overall quality of care. Seventeen veterans die by suicide every day. I’ve lost two veterans who were dear to me to suicide. This isn’t acceptable. It’s unconscionable.

The Trump administration absolutely turned its back on veterans while at the same time wrapping itself in the flag and pretending to care.

    11. You forgot the 100, 000s dead and the projected millions more that will die.

    12. Historical_Bend_2629 on

This headline minimizes how destructive, pointless, and cruel and DOGE was.

    13. TrumpetOfDeath on

Don’t forget their record on the “waste” programs cut:

Tens of thousands (maybe more?) of people dead internationally after USAID cuts

Screwworm returns to the US after they cut that monitoring program in Panama

Explosive diarrhea outbreak not being tracked by federal govt due to cuts to the program that monitored food-borne illnesses

      Department of Education decimated

      And I’m sure there’s a bunch more I missed

    14. Elon extracted all the data he wanted anyway. That’s all this was ever about. Smash and grab the data, most likely sell it and use it for election rigging, if possible. Him getting to kill hundreds of thousands of kids in the process was just an added bonus for him.

    15. Signal_Minimum8509 on

Simultaneously both Musk and Trump increased their personal net worth by billions in a year. 770,000 children in America won’t eat tonight because we cut off SNAP benefits. Over 100 billion dollars spent throwing missiles at Iran and they’re still building a bomb, and there’s no off ramp in sight. Billions thrown at ICE and wage stagnation and affordability are still right where they are. We’re dismantling the Department of Education and replacing it with nothing, somehow this is supposed to make education better but no one can tell us how or why. We’ve pulled the federal funding from the ACA and now 7 million more Americans are uninsured, and climbing.

Tell me how all of this is “winning.”

    16. GreedySecurity8030 on

The efficiency was just an excuse to remove everyone who would’ve been reasonable and sane enough to oppose their authoritarian, discriminatory and anti-democratic laws.

DOGE Was an exercise in Agnotology.

Deliberate cultivation of ignorance and doubt in its targeted destruction of the entirety of US research into Trans people, LGBTQ+ people, racial and ethnic minorities, women etc.

It was an act of violence specifically tailored to negatively impact the understanding of these groups of people. A group that is understood is more difficult to hate. A group that is understood is better able to receive Healthcare. A group that is understood is better able to participate in society.

This was the Opernplatz book burning and destruction of the Magnus Hirschfeld Institute for Sexual Research, with Elon Musk as our Joseph Goebbles and DOGE as his 40,000 Nazi attendees. Another 100 years of damage done to the understanding and acceptance of trans people, such that they may be more thoroughly excised from society and life.

They put us in the camps once and when the US liberated the camps they placed us right back into prisons. Same as it ever was, same as it ever will be.

    18. I’m a fed in an office that was DOGE’d.

We work in public health policy, compliance, and enforcement, on topics you’ve likely read about in recent news.

We’re down to about half a dozen people, stretched beyond capacity. I alone am covering for 3 FTEs, and I don’t even have the worst of it.

It isn’t just USAID cuts that have killed people – their meddling in public health operations have hamstrung the Fed’s capacity to rapidly react to outbreaks, particularly for intervention and prevention purposes.

Every slow response on these rapid-fire illness and outbreak events? Give thanks to DOGE and their Republican enablers.

    19. OnCallPartisan on

Candidates I vote for will need to pledge manhunts of every single POS in DOGE and ICE. Every. Fucking. One.

Let’s not forget the fucker who stole 500,000 social security numbers while stating Trump would pardon him.

    20. Hour-Two-4760 on

It’s so awful and we can’t even get Republicans to agree. The trillionaire got his own government office but Democrats are the problem, how unbelievably gullible do you have to be.

    21. Easy_Action_1380 on

Zero Savings, 300,000 lost jobs, hundreds of thousands of dead children whose blood is directly on Elon Musk’s hands.

    22. Before Tariffs were issued by Trump, DOGE infiltrated the treasury to realign funds to oligarchs/trump.

    23. thefanciestcat on

Every „pro-life“ voter who supported Trump should know they helped starve children to death.

    24. CvieYltidrekoof on

Typical Republican fiscal policy. The U.S. is spending MORE after DOGE and all they got was an almost trillionaire.

    25. RobutNotRobot on

They came in, wrecked shit, stole a bunch of stuff, left innumerable backdoors and turned secure systems into insecure trash.

      We won so hard.

    26. trashpanda2night on

The only goal they had was to shut down all the investigations into Musk’s businesses. They succeeded while also stealing social security data at nation-wide scale. I have no doubt Elon set one of his starlink nodes to have full control and bypass all security and oversight.

    27. I was 1 of those 300k jobs lost. Loved my public health career. Lost my job and health insurance with a new baby at home. Good times. 😭

    28. DOGE did its real job, installing backdoors into every government system so that Musk and crew could illegally extract all of our private information.

    29. minus_minus on

The whole point was to get rid of competent civil servants to stop functions and/or replace them with MAGA flunkies.

    30. Vivid_Medium1184 on

DOGE stole all our social security numbers… Can’t wait for that shoe to drop down the line

      NO. DOGE IS NOT DEAD.

      [https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jun/28/government-website-visitor-tracking-surveillance-fears](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jun/28/government-website-visitor-tracking-surveillance-fears)

Look up The National Design Studio. Many of the DOGE employees, INCLUDING ‚BIG BALLS‘, were simply transferred, and still quietly reside in positions all throughout government. They are very active, they still have ALL YOUR DATA THEY’VE STOLEN, they are still in the process of furthering a surveillance state, run by a data center being built in the command and control bunker beneath Trumps ballroom.

‚DOGE IS DEAD‘ is fucking propaganda.

    32. Veritable_Vox on

Lets be honest, saving money was never the real goal of DOGE. It was all about weaking and disassembling the government. Especially services that were more of a benefit to normal people instead of the rich and powerful. That and the secondary goal of gathering private data on as many people as possible to commit as much fraud as possible.

    33. DOGE was a data collection operation, on top of the Nazi Elon Musk buying services from the grifter in chief to kill all and any investigations into the companies he’s involved in.

      Anyways, Release the Epstein files.

    34. No it’s not. The same people that were in charge of DOGE are still behind the scenes in the executive and carrying out the same mission.

    35. I believe that the biggest thing that happened was that Elon gained access to huge amounts of information to use in ways to make himself wealthier. Decades of government accumulated data, much of it personal, social security info, etc. I don’t believe that there was ever an attempt at saving any money. It was all a money making scam.

    36. The entire agency and its mission was completely illegal from the outset and every action they took was as well. This is why they had to have armed US Marshalls force their way into spaces they were not allowed to enter in order to wreak the havoc they did. A complete debacle from day 1. How did the Republican congress allow them to operate in this manner I will never understand.

    37. The investigations into the damages will stretch for years, but I think zero savings might be generous. I suspect the costs after every lawsuit is settled and various costs in repairing damage done I will be surprised if DOGE didn’t cost taxpayers Billions.
