Call his bluff and completely ignore him. What’s the worse that can happen if he pulls them out? Pootin is in no position to invade Europe as he’s found out in Ukraine.

    2. player_zero_ on

Isn’t this Trump guy the one who is on the Epstein list?

      Release the files!

    3. Aggravating-Life-786 on

Take your troops and go, we also don’t want to be involved in your Iran fiasco.
Thank you for attention to this matter.

    4. He’s begging for help now with his failed Iran war, which he said he won 3 days in.

    5. Fuck off back home then. They won’t be missed. And since most of the bases in Europe are logistics, hospital or air bases, all the USA will be doing is nerfing themselves and their ability to project power.

    6. leihto_potato on

Just leave then. The short term pain of covering the gaps left by the Americans will lead to long term benefits for Europe.

    7. B00bsRuleTheWorld on

He should be ignored on his threats. He has shown time and time again during the Iran conflict that he is not serious on his talks. Just a spoiled child talking bullshit

    8. IJustSignedUpToUp on

Considering his stated enemity of Europe, why would former allies want military bases and enemy troops of am openly hostile dictator posted in their borders?

*“Trump ties US troop presence in Europe to Greenland deal and Iran“*

      I’ve a better idea.

Tie tRump to a lorry-load of concrete slabs, and drive it into the Potomac.

    10. Cool take your troops away and lose what remains of your soft power and evaporate Americas relevance in the world. Canada,Mexico and Europe are already learning to live without America this just means we all do it sooner.

No ones giving you Greenland and no one interested in losing our soldiers in a war you started to distract from being in the files.

    11. He’s like the new guy at poker who bluffs every hand, it works a couple of times then he ends up going home early with empty pockets.

    12. If the us is going to attack their allies, why would their allies want their troops stationed there

    13. Old_Man_Game on

That means a weaker, less influential United States.

He’s so dumb he thinks those bases are charity.

    14. brickyardjimmy on

Call this buffoon on his dumb bluff. The Pentagon doesn’t want to remove troops from Europe. No one does. Except him.

    15. This c*nt has gone through his whole life getting what he wants by threatening people. Now as the second time president he’s threatening entire nations – allies. May this PoS go to hell and I better not see any of our representatives proposing any kind of deals to this treacherous child rapist. Time to accelerate our disconnect from the US. Putin can go ahead and get his gratification for successfully planting this buffoon and revealing how dumb Americans really are.

    16. So it’s a win win for Europe then? No involvement in Iran, no US in Greenland AND we get to rid ourselves from the American bases that are more of a threat than a security at this point.

    17. What I wonder, how has none of His top military brass told him what loosing all his logistic bases in Europe would do to his tempertantrum in the middle east?

    18. Trump trying to bluff Europe that he has pocket aces when everyone knows he’s got a 2 and a card that ain’t even from the deck.

    19. StigmaFreund on

Us troops are useless in Europe if there’s no guarantee, or trust that they would act if necessary, anyway.

    20. Trump simply doesn’t understand that having troops in Europe is a positive for the US. At this point I think most of Europe wants them gone.

    21. Meets with Putin on July 4th

Proceeds with new policy ideas that greatly benefit Russia and hurt America and Europe

Tell me how he isn’t a Russian pawn

    22. BipolarBear123 on

At this point US troops are more of a US blackmail tool than a Russian deterrent and it’s pretty obvious to all parties involved…good riddance.

He’s desperately trying to nail down his presidential legacy.

Most U.S. presidents have 1 or 2 big things that they’re remembered for.

With Obama his was getting the affordable care act passed, which paved the way for universal healthcare to expand.

For Trump, his first term was littered with controversy. He was impeached twice, and his “1 big thing” would likely be the botched COVID response. So not great.

He’s now desperately trying to get *something* as a big win for his legacy.

      – tariffs were idiotic and didn’t work
      – Conquering Iran blew up in his face
      – Something with Cuba is apparently on the table
      – Going after Greenland hasn’t been working out

He’s trying to get a 51st state approved or at least a new territory. If it was up to him it would be Greenland and he would rename it Trumpland and give them their own currency with his face on every bill.

    24. That would be destroying the military capabilities of the USA.

This man is so stupid that he thinks the bases are a gift to Europe and doesn’t understand that these benefit the USA.

    25. Vinegarinmyeye on

      Off you fuck then…

Not many folks here in Europe will be terribly upset at the US bases being given back to their respective countries.

They’re not there protecting anyone, they’re there to provide logistics for America’s constant „excursions“ in the Middle East.

You wanna take your toys and go home, don’t threaten us with a good time.

    26. McShoobydoobydoo on

Mitch McConnell so disappointed to only be the 2nd most brain dead Republican in government.

    27. born_in_the_90s on

Trump needs europe more than the EU.
America has more enemies than the EU and America unable to move quickly or not able to receive local intelligence is a bigger problem for them than for the EU.

So take your troops and shove it.

    28. attackedmoose on

It’s going to take decades for us to rebuild our international relationships after this whole circus is done, isn’t it?

    29. AsbestosDude on

Greenland deal? There is no deal.

Greendland is not for sale… never was

    30. Ignore him and continue as you were.

Any american support under this president should be assumed worthless.

    31. gordonjames62 on

      That is great news

      – Remove unwanted US troops
      – continue not joining them in their foolish war in Iran
      – Continue supporting NATO and EU allies in not giving in to USA extortion attempts.

      This is a triple win

    32. markycrummett on

Ah yes. Give me stuff or I’ll weaken my own military. Tricky one that
