Imagine having kids and wanting to get rid of them as soon as legally possible. Southern culture has its fair share of problems (especially if your family is screwed up) BUT it’s such a superior culture to the northerners in regards to this particular issue.

Why should I leave my home? Where should I go?

Croatia at 33.3 is wild. I feel like that’s the real story here.

Multigenerational homes can be a source of strength, however you won’t learn how to stand on your own two feet very well if you’re living in your childhood home at the age of 30. But then again, the countries where people live the longest with their parents are also countries that happen to be more traditional and less individualistic, therefore people don’t put a huge emphasis on being independent like we do in the UK.
30 was (and still is) the age at which people begin to marry and set up their own families as well. I just don’t understand how someone could develop a resilient and proactive mindset if they choose to hang around their parents’ house where there’s always going to be someone to help them to do things for them. Anyway, it’s not for me to judge – it’s just interesting to observe how different cultures deal with life.
