    1. Does Korea really want those people? You see those people in Thailand and they are the most insufferable passport bros you’ll ever see

I’m in the process of moving to Korea while maintaining my existing US job in a remote capacity. My company was not at all interested in this visa because the government provides no guidance around how payroll taxes would work. They’re worried Korea will come knocking at some point for whatever’s owed.

    3. Huh. Interesting. Very very interesting.

I live in Japan currently and they keep making moves that seem designed to discourage non-citizens from staying. Even Japan’s equivalent visa only lasts 6 months (with a 6 month cooldown after) and doesn’t include a Zairyu Card, making it impossible to open bank accounts etc.

    4. Why does it mention ages 18-34? When I googled the visa it said anyone over age 18 is eligible. Are there different income requirements over age 34?

    5. But it still requires company employment and permission, that was the biggest barrier.
