      The canton of Zurich happens to have the highest HDI of any subnational unit in the world (among what the UN considers first-level administrative regions in each country).

      Whats going on with those north-western regions in Czech Republic, why they’re so low? It’s the same level as eastern Slovakia.

      Deutronamaly here (a kind of Red-Green colorblindness which has only problems with the shades of green). This is a great map for me.

      For Hungary it might be deceiving that the map shows NUTS-3 (counties) but based on the pattern of the colours, the data is on NUTS-2 (regional) level. For this reason Budapest and the surrounding Pest county appear to be on the same level which I’d find surprising.

      Weird Polish people fight for their lives in every comment section to make Central Europe a thing.

      Why is Bratislava so prosperous? I thought Slovakia was like the West Virginia of Europe?
