I was driving home early that morning and passed not long after it happened.
As far as I could tell, the driver and passenger were not there anymore – either they had left or had been picked up rather quickly. But having driven up from the Paralimni McDonalds, I could see that the last 50 meters of the dual carriageway showed clear signs of someone having absolutely smashed the brakes (abs at full tilt at high speed leaves marks on dust/dirty roads). I’d say that car was doing quite a lot more than the 80kmh which are allowed there. The way I see it…: very early Sunday morning….on the fastest road back to from Agia Napa…not hard to guess that intoxication, speed and entirely too much optimism were at play.

There should be a billboard on this roundabout with pictures of all the people that have beached their car on it.
