In America, this has meant firing people whose job it is to know things, targeting black and female officers to deny them promotion, and promoting people on the basis of vibes and politically correct recitations instead of competence.
The first war fought with this ethos was the most humiliating defeat of the USA since the turn of the 20th centurt.
US Warrior Culture: Start a fight with someone weaker, destroy some things but achieve nothing, realize your opponent has more stamina than you, then try to bribe them to stop fighting so they won’t embarrass you in front of your friends.

This is more meat for his base, and in particular for the sort of person that is also a target for „*active clubs*“ and „*manosphere*“ influencers. Those that hold the idea that *empathy* is an immoral, non-masculine trait; and believe that *violence and aggression* are the strongest expressions of masculinity.
Whereas Canada has long been a leader in peace keeping, de-escalation, and progressive morality in a world of violence. What Poilievre is suggesting is that we abandon the role we’ve held since Korea, and instead become *more American*.
He should really clarify what he means with this parroting. Would it include the causal racist pettiness of erasing the historic contributions of CAF members and denying promotions for members who don’t match his loyalty or purity tests for example?
Is he going to intimidate or force out non-white male officers and lose conflicts? Because that’s what Hegseth is doing.

We have had good soldiers, we are good diplomats and wonderful friends. But never in our history have we had a warrior culture. Nor do I think we need one.
