That’s what happens when you offload that critical thinking. Use it or lose it. And if the AI is doing it for you then you aren’t using it.
If you always use a calculator your not going to get better at mental math even I’d you know the formulas and can put them in excel all day.
If you always use AI your not going to know how to do research yourself.
If the AI codes for you then you aren’t going to be able to code without it. (Learn the structure of code even if you are vibecoding it helps a lot to know what your asking for even if your not good at the coding part)
Etc.

Not as much as social media, internet or TV.

I don’t care. I have ADHD and struggled with learning things that I love. My memory is like a goldfish’s and spend most of my adult life building systems to keep up with normies. Now LLMs allow me to create and build in Python, a language I’ve been struggling with for years. I can consult with my LLMs back and forth and build systems and get a walkthrough on setting up online projects that would previously cause me to rip my hair out.
I’ll take this option over watching reality TV, TikTok or video games any day. People who love to think and create are going to use the tools for those purposes. Those folks who just want quick answers without putting in the effort will always look for the path of least resistance. That’s never going to change.

I work in a company where the leadership loves using copilot and other a.i. tools. It frustrates me a little because I feel it diminishes the value of work that people who dont use a.i. do. They end up assuming your work was made with a.i. rather than you actually spent time and effort to get things correct
. I feel like I’m going to be looked at the same as people who memorize phone numbers of their friends and family, know how to read a map and use a compass, and actually knows how to drive a standard car.
