    [OC] – MLB Draft Scouting-Abteilungen bestehen seit 30 Jahren


    Hier ist, was jede Diagrammspalte bedeutet:

    Draft WAR

    Insgesamt positiver MLB-Karriere-WAR, hervorgerufen durch die unterschriebenen Draft-Picks dieses Teams. Ein negativer WAR wird nicht von der Gesamtsumme abgezogen.

    Value+

    WAR über dem erwarteten Draft-Slot-Wert.
    Beispiel: Wenn ein Pick-Slot normalerweise produziert 1.0 WAR und der Spieler produzierte 10.0 WARdas ist +9.0 Value+.

    WAR/Top10

    Durchschnittlicher positiver WAR pro Auswahl aus den Runden 1–10.
    Dies misst, wie effizient ein Team seine höherwertigen Draft-Picks genutzt hat.

    10-WAR Hits

    Anzahl der gedrafteten Spieler, die mindestens erreicht haben 10 career WAR.
    Dies ist die Anzahl der „Stars/echten MLB-Stammspieler“.

    5-WAR%

    Prozentsatz der erzielten Draft-Picks, die mindestens erreicht haben 5 career WAR.
    Dies ist eine Trefferquote-Metrik.

    Debut%

    Prozentsatz der erzielten Draft-Picks, die es überhaupt in die MLB geschafft haben.
    Dies misst, wie oft die Organisation Spieler gedraftet hat, die es in die Majors geschafft haben.

    Wichtig: Die Wertung erfolgt 1996-2021 Entwurfsergebnisse, weil 2022-2025 Die Auswahl ist zu aktuell, um eine faire Bewertung zu ermöglichen. Top10 bedeutet die Runden 1–10, nicht die Top-10-Gesamtauswahl.

      Pretty wild that the Jays best draft hit (Wells) is more than 10 WAR below the best hit for the next lowest team. And yet are still middle of the pack overall!

      Neat chart! I know you can’t look at too recent years like you mentioned, but how does this table shake up if you only look at, say, 2011-2021?

      Wouldn’t ranking based on Value+ better suit the table? WAR is influenced by pick number so should the information not be ranked against the scouting departments’ performance based on the variable draft picks used by the various teams?

      Does the player have to stay with the team to count jm these metrics? I would assume that trading prospects contributes to the negative value that the Yankees are rated at. I would assume you wouldn’t include those players, perhaps? Or at least not count them as a miss?

      Maybe I’m missing it in the explanation but is it WAR contributed over an entire career or just with the team that drafted them?
