      Honestly kind of frustrating at times but I also understand it. My fiance is 10 years younger than me and in Japan no even blinks an eye about it. Back home I definitely get the side eye and even had friends insist I end the relationship.

      But also why is this news?

      I never really understood the „What can you possibly have in common“ line that people seem to push when there is an age gap. I’d say if a couple that is 50 and 30 are for example both into hiking and outdoor stuff they would have more in common compared to someone the same age that is an indoor/computer person.

      Mainly stems from jealousy, because they cant find someone to love then. So they have attack the man. „Why he never pick one of us?“

      America does not want couples in emotional harmony.

      American women get with men their same age who have no assets, no dating experience, no life experience, early in their career and or still figuring out what they want to pursue. To top it all off with hormones as high as they’ll be in the man’s lifetime.

      Wouldn’t it make more sense for a woman who is 21-24 who has finished college or already decided on what she wants out of life to date a man in his mid thirties who’s more focused, well into his career, and can offer more stability to his partner.

      Seems like more synergistic relationship off the rip can help avoid the date your own age > women gets disappointed by younger guy > shapes future negative outlook on relationships pipeline.

      I mean Japan has also several porns about school girls being assaulted and is so bad, that they needed to put a damn shutter sound on all of their phones because men were harassing young girls and women. I doubt they care whether some old fart has a much younger, barely legal girl by his side. They just think „lucky bastard“ and move on

      Idk I think 23 and 50 would also raise some eyebrows in Japan

      I’d say the difference is felt because here people mind their business. To your face, anyway 😄
