They are hitting each other hard recently. If you told someone in 2022 that Ukraine would be hitting Russia just as hard as Russia can hit it jo one would’ve believed you.
Dumbest thing Russia has ever done was invade Ukraine

These russian targets were in occupied Ukrainian territories
Nothing like a satellite communication centers and electrical substations getting lit up 🙂

Russia has rather creaky infrastructure. When Ukraine’s FP-9 ballistic missiles are ready for use later this summer it would not be difficult to create havoc with the power grid as far away as central Siberia.
Ukraine knows the state of Russia’s power grid and will take advantage of it.

Well done Ukraine. I hope you go to the drone factory expansion in Alabuga soon.

Russia can’t maintain the ground fight any longer, so they’re just trying to trade volleys while Ukraine is crippling their logistics.
I hope Putin relives Ghaddafi’s last moments, especially that butt knife part by his own people.

I’m a little surprised they allowed her to post this as „Russia“ vs Occupied Ukraine. The targets according to the article are all in Crimea where they’ve been making a strong push to establish air dominance lately.
Now if they start taking down power plants and energy infrastructure outside Moscow, that’d be newsworthy about taking the fight home to Russia.

Unfortunately, russian power grid is built for nuclear strike. Hard to take down.

Striking the grid right before winter starts will hit civilians way harder than it would in summer. Repairing substations takes months.

Isn’t there a world leader who can call up Putin and put some brains in his head. Macron tried in the beginning and even went to see him. Being isolated he probably doesn’t even know how the war is going. Sad to see the destruction on both sides and common people suffer

Note that these are substations in Russian-occupied Ukrainian territory, not deep inside Russia.
This is less about making Russian lives miserable back home and more about making the occupied territory a terrible place to stay.

kind of funny russian be outside just casually filming drones fly by as they decimate russian energy infrastructure? nobody is running for shelter. shouldn’t russians be scared of attacks? no bc Ukraine doesnt target civilians.

Not sure how things are electrical grid-wise in Russia, but here in southern US it takes a long time to get new transformers and power generating turbines. I’d hate to know the wait time and cost of replacement and commissioning for new units out there.

you reap what you sew. Russia has destroyed lots of Ukrainian power infrastructure of over the years especially when heading into winter. it is only fair that they finally return the favor.

I wonder if people even bother to skim the article before commenting (although headlines are also to blame).
Ukraine is not hitting Russia, they are hitting infrastructure in the Russian occupied regions.

An underreported disaster at the [Sayano-Shushenskaya Hydro Power Plant ](https://www.powermag.com/investigating-the-sayano-shushenskaya-hydro-power-plant-disaster/)in 2009 was in some ways a hydroelectric equivalent of Chernobyl – but without the radiation. It got relatively little attention outside Russia.
