What isn’t as widely reported are the number of people who are taken by ICE and never seen again. Both after deportation and more worryingly, while in ICE custody. I don’t understand how we’re just letting this go on.
I still have a scar from a wound I got during an ICE protest/blockade. During that I thought we were finally seeing the civil resistance needed to expel this Republican insanity. After mostly getting them to leave the city though, nothing else happened. Nothing anywhere else and no follow up here. Apathy and willful ignorance reared it’s ugly head again.
Republicans aren’t going to abide by midterm results. Everything they’ve done has been with one goal in mind, unchecked power with no opposition. They aren’t going to peacefully walk away if they lose an election. For fucks sake we’ve already seen them violently attempt a coup, and that was on short notice with limited resources. Think about what they can do now.
Midterms are the last chance to save what little decency and democracy still exists in this country. I don’t mean just voting. I mean properly and extremely reacting when that vote is denied.
This will happen every year when it gets hot. They are trying to get civil unrest. Its in the play book. They are actually probably leaking these stats because of the reflecting pool and state fair failures.

I interviewed a man for a position at my manufacturing company today. Senior mechanic position. He let on that he was facing a massive personal issue in that his long-time live-in girlfriend had been picked up by ICE on Wednesday morning and that he was now with her three kids. He was having to go home after the interview and tell the kids their mom was in an ICE facility.
Fuck Trump.

U.S. was built mostly on legal integration. In Austin the labor market has stabilized. I am a business owner in construction. It was insane before, rates were bottoming out. Quality was dropping. We need legal immigration.
ICE is still running rampant in the greater Phoenix area. They predominantly target South Phoenix and Mesa. Our citizens are still being kidnapped, but the citizens are in fear of reporting incidents in their neighborhood.
This is the kind of thing that can’t be kept secret
people are arrested, they go missing, other people notice
