Don’t worry guys, when tories undermine health care it’s all evil, but when liberals ignore the undermining by the tories at the provincial level, it’s just pragmatism and lefties are all out of touch purity testing people! Gotta love political parties becoming like supporting sports teams now instead of genuine policy tension.

So the Prime Minister’s „hands-off“ approach is legislated in this case. Any action would be seen as meddling in provincial matters, which is probably the worst thing a Liberal PM could do in Alberta right now.
From the federal standpoint, there’s [already a mechanism in place](https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/news/2023/03/government-of-canada-announces-deductions-and-next-steps-to-curb-private-health-care-paid-out-of-pocket.html) by automatically deducting the dollar amount from the province’s funding transfers.
I’m not sure what people are expecting given the current political climate in regards to Alberta. On some level it is Albertans who are responsible for cleaning up their own house.
What even are we as a country without our universal healthcare to lord over Americans?
